Disaster has Struck Jim as he prepared for this weekend’s Barcelona Marathon. While running he felt a sharp pain at the base of his spine which affected his left leg. Subsequent medical assessments diagnosed damage to his Piriformis muscle, which runs between the backbone and the top of the leg.
“I’m absolutely gutted that at this late stage i’ve picked up an injury which means I can’t now run in Barcelona having trained so hard for it all through the winter. I’m conscious of the fact that a lot of people have put their hands in their pockets to sponsor me and intend to undertake another endurance event once i’m fit again”
The current plan is to continue with physiotherapy and osteopathy to get him up and running as soon as possible. Jim has his eye on running the Yorkshire Three Peaks in May, but watch this space for updates!
