As you may be aware, Jim Coughlan is running in the Barcelona Marathon on March 25th to raise money for Help Our Wounded, part of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund. HOW assists wounded Royal Marines Commandos and their families in the aftermath of injury. As a former Royal Marine himself, this is a cause close to Jim’s heart.

Jim hasn’t run 26.2 miles for over 20 years; “I wanted to get back into endurance events and Barcelona is my favourite city so this was a no-brainer really!” As an avid FC Barcelona fan, it was a done-deal once Jim found that the route takes runners directly past the Camp Nou stadium!

“I think we have a debt of honour to those who are injured or killed whilst serving their country and Help Our Wounded do a fantastic job in raising vital funds to make their lives a little easier. My plan is to raise £1664 (the year the Royal Marines were formed!) to add something to the pot. If you could make a contribution it would be really appreciated”.

Jim’s JustGiving page is here www.justgiving.com/jimcoughlan and you can contact him via www.mountainandglen.com if you’d like to help in any way.

Thank you!
